Please Wait While We Try to Find a Cell Phone Tower

Posted by on Jun 5, 2009 in Family Life, Social Networking & Marketing | 1 comment

Before the brakes went out on our motorhome, we had gotten lost.  For reasons we still don’t understand, I was calm about the brake loss part.  What I was totally freaking out about was relying on Internet technology to help us. The idea was offered by our friendly motor home dealer, who took our older Class C motor home in need of a new $10,000 roof and sold us, cheap, a bigger Class A rig.  Cheaper because what crazy person buys a gas hog, right?  We wanted diesel but fell in love...

Create Peace and a Loving Holiday; Meet Puppy

Posted by on Dec 23, 2008 in Family Life | 2 comments

“Tis the season to wear myself down to sheer exhaustion and still not get everything done that I have in my head I “need” to do. I’m slipping into the family-dimension of visits, gifts and wine. Of seeing family I only get to see once a year. Of naming a new puppy. The ordeal of losing our puppy, Winnie, a few months ago messed up everyone in their own way. For me, I had bonded with her and had the most time with her before she died. A lot of talking, help and...

It’s Spring at My House

Posted by on Dec 16, 2008 in Family Life |

This was my giggle for the day. I’m on the Board of Directors for my town’s baseball Little League. My role is their head webmaster. There’s me and a few others who pitch in during the busy season, keeping up with scores, schedules, etc. All of us, of course, are volunteers. Registration for the 2009 Spring season starts next month. It’s an exciting time. Typically we get a minimum of 500 boys signing up for Spring ball and then there’s also Fall Ball, which...

Moving Right Along

Posted by on Jun 11, 2008 in Family Life, News Roundup |

What a wild year. I hit an age milestone and one child has grown up and is training me on how to be the mother of someone who has her own car, job, boyfriend and still never makes her bed. School is almost out for the summer. Already my son finished the baseball season for team number one, and now he’s on his second team, where they play into July. They’ve only lost one game so far. Freshman high school football camps and practice for him start the week after school ends. ...

Happy Mother’s Day

Posted by on May 11, 2008 in Family Life |

I’m back from many things. Dealing with family members who need me. Losing my host, and thus, this blog for awhile. Being a mom, raising happy kids, running a business, and being a sane wife are constant lessons. I had a great day today. We caught it on film. Holidays don’t stand in our way at Cre8tive Flow. We posted our weekly roundup of popular threads, member picks and various web sites we find of interest. Cre8asiteforums honored moms day. Thank you Risa for yet another...

Your 10 Rules To Follow To Ensure Usability

Posted by on Jul 25, 2007 in Blog Usability, Ecommerce, Family Life | 7 comments

Everyone has their own way. I’ve been around many development environments and witnessed or experienced the blood, sweat and tears borne by the web development team. Sometimes it feels they get no support or respect. Someone came to Cre8asiteforums, a community largely made up of search engine marketing practitioners, asking for Your 10 Rules To Follow To Ensure Usability. I was wondering members’ views on what their 10 definite rules would be to ensure, or at least strive for,...

How to Make AJAX Techniques Safe for Search Engines

Posted by on Jun 21, 2007 in Cre8asiteforums, Ecommerce, Family Life |

As an occasional Search Engine Strategies Conference Reporter for SearchEngineRoundTable , I can choose the topics I want to cover. I purposely combine topics I know something about, such as SEO and Usability, with areas I have no skills or knowledge about. This keeps me learning while I’m working. In New York last April, I chose AJAX and SEO because it was new to me. Far too new, frankly. I did my best to cover CSS, AJAX, Web 2.0 & Search Engines for the blog, but didn’t do...

10 Reminders for Usability Web Design To Make Site Visitors Adore You

Posted by on May 22, 2007 in Blog Usability, Ecommerce, Family Life, Kim Krause Berg, Usability | 1 comment

No matter how hard you try, there is always something wrong with your website. There is always a critic. I have a friend outside the USA who thankfully alerts me of my 404 error pages, which I appreciate, even though I told him over the weekend he was making me scream at my own inability to be perfect. You don’t want to be caught with your pants down when trying to present a professional site. Since my work permits me to see a great deal of websites and Internet applications, I...

Web Design and Marketing for The Folks You Forgot

Posted by on May 2, 2007 in Ecommerce, Family Life, Kim Krause Berg, News Roundup |

This is one of those “Kim is thinking again” posts, just to warn you ahead of time. Sometimes it feels right to just stop for a minute and take a look around. We come up with all kinds of excuses to do that. I have a few, so let’s skip that part and continue. Talking in Full Sentences is Becoming Extinct I’ve been on a huge “save the planet” kick for years, and recently it became so noticeable that my family is afraid to chuck a plastic bag or bottle....
