New for SES - Search Engine Strategies Awards in August

Every time I see an awards announcement, I always make up categories in my head they haven’t bothered with, like “Best SEO Costume” and “Old, Loud Mouthed and Still Kicking Ass”. Today’s awards news comes out of the folks who run Search Engine Strategies conferences and their awards launch.

  1. Your categories are way more entertaining and awesome than the ones SES came up with. ;)

  2. Heck yeah. I’d even consider getting stranded on my way to Chicago again just to try for the loud mouthed one :)

  3. Did you miss the part that you have to PAY 145$ to submit

“Entrants may submit for multiple categories but each submission must focus on the four key areas of consideration. You may upload a document if you so desire. The application fee is $145 for each entry.”

  4. YES! Dang it. This vital info is hiding on the submission page. Pretty sneaky.

If someone submits and withdraws, SES keeps $100 as a “processing fee”.

In a way, I can see why. Asking for fees to enter contests is nothing new. However, I’m having trouble with the value proposition. It’s great for the winner but it’s a $145 gamble.

Thanks SM for the heads up :)

  5. Good notice Shoemoney! However, you should always read everything when you sign for something!
