Not To Be Confused With Lisa’s Friday Recap, Recap
Here’s a quickie of some fun things, for casual Friday…
Andy Beal plays Blog Tag, loosely based on those chain emails you get. I once got one that wanted folks to answer about 25 questions. They were good questions but I didn’t want to think about 25 answers. Who cares about me, anyway? I’m only a B-list blogger….heh. Anyway, cool toy to play with there, Andy. But, you didn’t pick any WOMEN! (Hint to the new Women of SEO site. This might be an interesting way to highlight the ladies you love.)
One of my favorite long-time friends from overseas, Adrian, points out another example of when Kathy Sierra makes us think about user centered design, in Become the Thing that Replaces You
“The best trick we know for finding the meta-level is to play the five-why’s / why-who-cares-so-what game. Ask your users (or even just yourself) what’s important about a product. When they answer, ask, “Why?” When they answer that, say, “So?” and when they answer that, say, “Who cares?” and keep going until you get to the heart of it. (And if you haven’t played this before, most people stop WAY too early and miss what matters the most.) Only then do you discover that this feature the users–and you–believed to be meaningful was simply a tolerable way to do what they really wanted. When they say that X is important, dig deep enough and you might find that it was only because X let them do Z, and that there’s a much better way to make that happen.”
Michael is howling mad and ticked off. (I would have ticked you “hot” but it doesn’t say how or where. Must be a member to do it? Bah!) You just want me to publically say it don’t you….
Michael Gray (aka GrayWolf) is hot. He knows a sex goddess when he
seesreads one. That’s hot.
For everything else that’s of extreme importance, please visit Bruce Clay’s Blog with Host, Lisa Barone (Glad to see you’re feeling better, Lisa) or if you’re grumpy and want serious news, the new, (This blog is not on their blogroll blog. Dang this usability stuff, anyway…) SearchEngineLand, or if you have a serious crush on some hot usability guys, John’s WebWord, and Chris’s Confusability.
Stumble it!

Well I tagged you, so get going. I want to read your five things!
And we didn’t make Search Engine Land’s blogroll either. Oh well, we’re happy to be on the B-list with you!

Oh cool! I get to play now!
Can’t believe the Bruce Clay blog wouldn’t be on SEL’s BR. I can understand mine not being on there due to the usability angle, but still….
