About Cre8pc

While a full time Webmaster for a high-tech magazine publisher in 1996, I was expected to get our web sites into search engines and ranked well. I quickly learned who the leading players were and what techniques to use. I tested submission and ranking software and rooted out promotion scams. Eventually, I freelanced in search engine optimization and started my own web site about my search engines and marketing, called Cre8pc.com

I’m still interested in SEO, but training in Quality Assurance Software Testing, while employed by Verticalnet, helped me see a relationship between search results and the needs of web site visitors. I joined VerticalNet as a User Interface Engineer. Several months later I was plucked from that department and placed into a new software application QA Department, as a Quality Assurance User Interface/Usability Engineer. It was my job to learn about Human Factors (from a Human Factors Phd. they’d hired), and apply usability testing to our websites and software applications. Unable to locate much information on web site usability testing, I developed my own test plans and test cases for the company. When the company laid off thousands during the “dot com crash”, I returned to consulting and working from home.

Today I specialize in the relationship between Search Engine Optimization, User Interface and Usability. I offer a variety of usability testing services at UsabilityEffect.com at affordable prices. Please inquire on becoming a Partner or learn about sub-contracting services for your company.
