Daryn Kagan is Back!

As I’d written earlier, when Daryn Kagan left her role as news anchor at CNN, I was disappointed. They’ve never been able to replace her combination of warmth, humor, smile and way of delivering the news with her “I’m sitting out there right next to you” style.

Her long awaited new blog, DarynKagan.com, launched today. I actually had this day marked on my calendar! It’s a pretty site. Warm, autum colors…dynamic visual right smack in the center that sucks you in immediately…links that describe the site’s purpose, as well as hopes for its future. She’s still reporting news. Only now, it’s done her way.

Her mission is one of hope, change, positive stories and upliftment. She jogs alongside a man training for the Ironman Triathalon. Thing is, he’s a double amputee.

What struck me all along about Daryn is her way of touching you, across the TV screen. She delivered the news so well that while working from home, my music was replaced with CNN, so I could listen to her tell me about the World’s day.

CNN continues to move forward, despite their serious loss of Daryn. Few people have that extra magic, and Daryn Kagan is one of them.

Congratulations to Daryn for leaving something so BIG and creating something even BIGGER.

I hope to grow up just like her :)

I guess she knows how Leon Harris felt when his contract was not renewed.
