I will say that I&#039;ve had a similar experience with other SEO&#039;s before, and it seems that Kim is right that we &quot;eat our own young.&quot;

On a positive note, I will admit that this part of Kim&#039;s article hit home with me:

&quot;What does work with this industry are referrals.&quot;

I think that this advice is well-founded, and nothing is better than making personal connections with people and helping their site get better from an SEO perspective. 

When you&#039;ve helped someone enough that they&#039;re willing to put their personal stamp on you - that&#039;s the reward.</description>

Perhaps all SEO experts (or anyone claiming to be an expert) should be humble like Isaac Newton. :)
