To be fair to the SEO world, I think things are changing so fast, that it's hard for people to stop and learn the fundamentals outside of their narrow niche. That's true of too many web disciplines. Hopefully, interest in UX and IA is becoming more than just lip service. My own personal experience is that there's been a huge increase in interest since Q3, but I'm not sure if that's personal branding, the economy picking up, or interest in the industry as a whole.
